Live display
A screen shows a fresh QR code every 30 seconds. A code is useless moments after it's shown, so this is the strongest guarantee someone was actually there.
Printed QR
No screen needed. Print a code and it stays valid on a schedule you set (weekly, monthly, or quarterly). Simpler to set up, with a longer window than a live display, so it suits lower-risk sites better than high-turnover ones.
